Mousehole Harbour at Mid-Tide

You will see from my website that Cornwall looms large in my life. My father was born in Sennen in 1898, although his family moved to Sussex when he was two. My first visit to West Cornwall was not until 1977, when we rented a cottage in the harbour wall at Mousehole. It was October and my first son was four months old. I seem to remember it was very wild and beautiful.

Since my first visit we have returned to West Cornwall many times. It is one of the most dramatic and beautiful locations in Great Britain, which never fails to cause amazement and wonder.

This trip, the first in mid-winter, had been organized in the hope of shooting some dramatic winter weather landscapes and seascapes. We have planned several walks including a walk across the coastal path from Lamorna Cove to Tater Du lighthouse and Boscowen Point close to the spot where the MV Star was wrecked and the Penlee Lifeboat Solomon Browne was lost on the night of 19th December 1981 with all hands.

I shall be displaying some the images of my trip both here and at Chris Hotton – Digital Photography as well as providing information on the locations we visited.
